Acupuncture is a component of Traditional Chinese Medicine that has been practiced for over 2,500 years. The theory of acupuncture is based on the premise that there are patterns of energy flow (Qi) through the body that are essential for healthy physiology. Disruptions of this flow are believed to be responsible for discomfort, illness and disease. Acupuncture can correct imbalances with the stimulation of hair thin needles at anatomical locations on or in the skin by a variety of techniques.
Acupuncture can be used to treat many types of health conditions. It can also be used to enhance a person's energy and general well being.
